Next is contingencies. Whatever can go wrong will .... and we have to think of what can go wrong and design methods of dealing with it.

So, for example, what if the lorry carrying the elephant from London Zoo to No.56 Acacia Avenue (your home), has an accident on the M4?

We'll need a vet on call during the journey. And a helicopter.

Hmmm .... expensive.

We have to think of our budget.

So perhaps not a helicopter. Maybe we should just find out where the nearest helicopter is, so that we can call on it if necessary. And bear in mind it needs to be a big helicopter.

And maybe, rather than having a vet on call, we should just find out where the nearest vet who specialises in elephants is and how long it would take him to get to the M4. And perhaps we should make an appointment with him to visit your elephant when she arrives, just to check her over.

No sense in wasting budget if it isn't strictly necessary.

Test your thinking at every stage. That's what you've just done! Good for you.

Think of some more contingencies and methods of dealing with them. Email me with them if you like.
